Karen Snowshoe

Karen has lived in the Northwest Territories since 2004. She is a practising member of the British Columbia and Northwest Territories Law Societies. Since 1992, Karen has worked with a diverse range of organizations including the Yukon Government (Energy, Mines and Resources), Davis & Company, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, Statistics Canada, the United Native Nations, the United Nations Human Rights Commission, and the Gwich'in Tribal Council. 

Karen provides services in arbitration, mediation and negotiation. Her current clients include  the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal of the NWT and Nunavut, the NWT Human Rights Appeals Tribunal and the Federal Indian Residential School Adjudication Secretariat. Karen also sits as a panel member of the Gwich'in Arbitration Panel. Karen remains committed to professional development and is currently working on a Masters of Law degree in Dispute Resolution and Administrative Law.
